The owners of this very complete, original farmhouse are real collectors of tropical and subtropical plants and trees. This resulted into a 5,000m2 landscaped garden with many palms, which explains the name Casa da Palmeira. The total plot on which the villa is located is no less than 8.000m2. Everywhere in the beautiful lush garden are terraces and seating areas to relax in the shade of old trees. Of course you can pick from the fruit trees. You can sunbathe at the swimming pool, which is heated by solar boilers. It can be covered, so that even in January the water temperature is still a pleasant temperature. The cover can also be used as a parasol on the hottest days. Your privacy is guaranteed in and around the entire house.
The once old farmhouse has been beautifully restored and extended, with attention to the hand-baked and painted tiles. The old hand-stacked thick boulder walls are sometimes almost 1meter thick! There is a nice combination of an attractive, intimate house and bright spaces such as the conservatory at the front and the modern upstairs bedroom with a panoramic view. The view from that room is breathtaking; from Albufeira to Faro you can see the entire coastline!
On the ground floor is an intimate sitting room to relax and watch TV (Dutch and Portuguese). The area with the beautiful large conservatory with dining table and connecting outdoor terrace is where you will spend most of your time. The conservatory glass is part tempered, against the heat (and cold). There is a fully equipped, restored farmhouse kitchen. On the ground floor there are 2 bedrooms, each with 2 single beds. There are 2 bathrooms, one with shower, sink and toilet and one with bath, double sink, toilet and bidet. On the first and top floor is the beautiful panorama bedroom with balcony, with 1 double bed and an en-suite bathroom. At the pool is an extra room with bathroom (shower, sink and toilet).
The secluded location and the under floor heating makes Casa da Palmeira also a wonderful holiday home in winter.
Surroundings of Almancil
Casa da Palmeira is 15 minutes from Faro airport and is quiet but centrally located. In the village of Almancil (1,5 km from the house) you can do all your shopping and eat out in one of the many restaurants. There is a Michelin star restaurant within walking distance of the house. Almancil is the gateway to the luxury region of Vale de Lobo and Quinta do Lago with many wonderful restaurants and beaches. The famous golf courses of this region can be reached within 10 – 15 minutes by car. A waterpark for children is reachable within 10 minutes. The dune beaches of the nature reserve and bird paradise Ria Formosa are also reachable within 10 car minutes. The capital of the Algarve Faro has a very pleasant historic centre, a nice harbour with ferries to the islands and is definitely worth a visit. Another 10 minute drive: The MAR Shopping centre and Loulé, with its lively historic centre and the monumental market hall. MAR has international brand stores and a Designer Outlet.
